AERONET Instrument Troubleshooting Interface - Solutions for K7 OR K8 DATA MISSED Flag

Condition(s)
For K7 or K8 file submissions, data are scanned for the last 15 days to determine the date of last submission.

How To Check/Test
Model 4: if using a satellite transmitter, check if there is 12V power to the transmitter and check the following.
Let us know how often the yellow light blinks on the Sutron transmitter. It should be one of the following combinations:

1. Double blink every two seconds --> indicates system malfunction. You may: a. Check the battery and voltage regulator, b. Check the condition of the GPS antenna, GPS cable, and GPS connector is not damaged or corroded, c. Disconnect and reconnect the GPS cable connector on the transmitter, d. Press the Fail-Safe Reset button on the back of the transmitter, e. Let us know if the yellow light stops after initial startup, f. Check if LED lights turn on when power is connected. If the lights show briefly red and green followed by yellow LED flash in few seconds, then it means Satlink is powered and still no communication. Therefore, the RS232 interface of the Satlink is damaged and it should be replaced, and g. If you have not seen transmissions from this Satlink for a long time, it could still be a bad power supply even if LED flashed in the first moment after power was connected. If power has failed, then it will not communicate with satellite.

2. Flash every 10 seconds --> Satlink has stopped

3. Single blink every five seconds --> check GPS antenna is connected and has good view of the sky.

If using a PC, check the settings using the Model 4 PC Transfer Scenario instructions.

Model 5: To push data manually, see Manual Data Transfer and connectivity Test.
Check for incoming K7 files here.

Model T: Push data manually by restarting the cimelTS_https_connect program.
Check for incoming K8 files here.

Solution Level 1 (< 5 minutes)
Model 4 (on PC) and 5:
1. Check/reseat connections between the control box and PC
2. Restart the PC and cimel_http_connect program

Model T:
1. Check/reseat connections between the control box and PC
2. Restart the PC and cimelTS_https_connect program

Solution Level 2 (more involved)
Model 4 (on PC) and 5:
1. Ensure that cimel_http_connect is waiting on the same com port as the instrument is connected to. Open multiple instances of the program to scan additional com ports.
2. If using a serial-to-USB adapter, use the Windows Device Manager (or equivalent) to ensure that it is working properly and that the correct drivers are installed.

Model T:
1. If using a serial-to-USB adapter, use the Windows Device Manager (or equivalent) to ensure that it is working properly and that the correct drivers are installed.

Solution Level 3 (last resort)
Model 4:
1. Ensure that the Model 4 PC Transfer Scenarios are programmed into the control box. See Model 4 PC Transfer Scenario instructions.
2. Remove and re-install the serial-to-USB adapter drivers.

Model 5:
1. Ensure that the Link_PC option is set to Yes. See Model 5 Link PC Mode instructions.
2. Remove and re-install the serial-to-USB adapter drivers.

Version T:
1. Remove and re-install the serial-to-USB adapter drivers.
